Former President asks Senior Minister Nisar Khuhro to expedite relief, rescue operation

Karachi, August 01, 2015 (PPI-OT): Former President of Pakistan and Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had directed Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Irrigation Nisar Ahmed Khuhro to utilise all available resources for the safety of the people amid heavy rains and any floods in coming days in Sindh. The embankments should be closely monitored and ensured no breech could occur that might jeopardize lives of the locals and their property.

He gave these directives to the Senior Minister over phone. Asif Ali Zardari asked the Senior Minister to expedite efforts for relief and rehabilitation for those so far affected from heavy rains and floods. He also laid stress on consolidated and collective efforts for taking care of the people.

Sindh senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro informed the Co-Chairman about the overall situation in Sindh that has followed the heavy showers and rise of water level in river and barrage. He informed him that he was personally monitoring the situation, condition of the embankments.

The PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari asked the Sindh senior Minister for information and irrigation Nisar Ahmed Khuhro that he should keep up with his untiring efforts till the entire situation gets normalized and that he should also gear up the relief and rehabilitation process for the rain-affected populous and shifting of the people living in close to safer locations.
