German-UAE Delegation Visits Karachi to Enhance Trade Ties

KARACHI: A high-level business delegation from the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce, accompanied by representatives from German Chambers (AHK UAE), visited the SITE Association of Industry in Karachi to explore business development opportunities between Germany and the United Arab Emirates with Pakistan. The delegation, led by Florian Walther, aimed to foster business-to-business (B2B) relations and identify potential sectors for collaboration.

The delegation comprised representatives from various sectors such as textile retail and supply chain, industrial automation and electrical engineering, testing, inspection and certification, clean energy solutions, specialty chemicals, and electronics and communications technology. The visit highlighted the commitment to strengthening economic ties and exploring joint ventures.

Ahmed Azeem Alvi, President of the SITE Association of Industry, welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the SITE area and the association’s role in addressing industry-related issues. The visit underscored the potential for business promotion through bilateral engagements.

Chief Coordinator Saleem Parekh expressed optimism about the visit, stating that the B2B meetings would facilitate the development of business relations. Meanwhile, Juanid-ur-Rehman, Chairman of International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs, emphasized the significance of industrial cooperation, investment opportunities, and joint ventures.

The event witnessed active participation from SITE association members, who showed significant interest in engaging with the German businessmen. A video presentation was also showcased to provide insights to the visiting delegation, and Shields of the Association were presented to the delegation members as a symbol of goodwill.

Prominent figures in attendance included former SITE leadership and executives from reputable industries, marking the event as a significant step towards enhancing trade relations with Germany and the UAE.
