Srinagar, April 16, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that Indian government has made the so-called elections in the territory a one-sided game and a fruitless exercise by banning peaceful election boycott campaign of the Hurriyet leadership.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the raids on the residence of the leaders of his party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir, Abdul Hameed Parray and continued detention of more than 40 other leaders in the different jails and police stations of the occupied territory. Abdul Ahad Parra, Amir Hamza, Muhammad Yousuf Lone, Abdul Rasheed Butt, Ghulam Muhammad Bangi and Bashir Ahmad Saleh are among these detainees.
The veteran leader also denounced the use of brute force by Indian police against the election boycott rallies organized by the Hurriyet leaders. He said that the puppet administration had accepted its defeat that in this ideological game, “they can’t stand in front of the Hurriyet leadership and the administration is not in a position to face the Hurriyet leaders on political platform.”
Meanwhile, the forum led by the veteran leader in a statement said the army and police had raided many time the house of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet President for Hajin Tehsil and ransacked the household goods and harassed the family members.
Terming the police act as state terrorism, the statement said that besides police, the army had also been called and a crackdown was launched on the Hurriyet leadership across the territory.
