Gilani urges world to rescue minorities in India, Muslims in IOK

Srinagar, October 20, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani while condemning the authorities for not booking the killers of truck driver, Zahid Rasool Butt, under murder charges, has appealed to the world community and international human rights organizations to come to the rescue of minorities in India and Muslims in Kashmir.

Syed Ali Gilani referring to the Udhampur incident and attacks on Muslims and other minorities inside India by extremist Hindu hooligans in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian government-sponsored anti-Muslim riots continued to remain a blot on the so-called democratic face of India. “At present, India is directly ruled by the fascist and communal-minded people, and the fast growing intolerance in the country is a matter of deep concern for all minorities,” he said.

The veteran leader said that the RSS and its allied parties had a long-pending agenda of converting India into a Hindu Rashtra and for that purpose they planned to forcibly convert the people of other religions under Ghar Wapsi (conversion to Hinduism) Programme or to eliminate the Muslims and other minorities by inciting communal tensions”. The communal forces in India, he said, are so encouraged with the BJP rule that they only need a small excuse to kill a Muslim, Christian or a man of any other faith. They feel that they have got a favourable government to implement their wicked agendas, he added.

Syed Ali Gilani said that Indian authorities were trying to divert attention of people from Udhampur attack by booking killers under the Public Safety Act (PSA), and not under murder charge. “It is a clear case of cold-blooded murder and the authorities, by booking the attackers under PSA, are trying to divert attention of the people and save the culprits from getting death sentence,” he said and demanded capital punishment for the killers.

“Booking the persons involved in such a heinous crime under PSA is mere eyewash. And by doing so, the sympathizers and masters of these criminals are trying to save them. They shall be tried for murder, and be given capital punishment,” the veteran leader said. He maintained that Kashmiris would never forgive PDP Patron and the puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, for bringing nothing but destruction and miseries to them by handing over the territory’s control to the RSS people. Meanwhile, a high-level delegation of Syed Ali Gilani-led forum, headed by its General Secretary, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, participated in the funeral prayers of the martyred driver, Zahid Rasool Butt, in Islamabad.
