Gilgit Baltistan Liberation Day Celebrated Across All Districts

Islamabad: Gilgit Baltistan’s Liberation Day was celebrated in all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan today with traditional enthusiasm, patriotism, and national unity. On this occasion, ceremonies, rallies, and flag hoisting events were organized across the region.

According to Radio Pakistan, the main ceremony took place at the historic Chinar Bagh, where Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah and Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan hoisted the national flag and laid a wreath at the memorial, paying tribute to the martyrs. The event was attended by ministers, civil and military officials, students, and people from different walks of life.

In his address, Governor Syed Mehdi Shah highlighted the significance of November 1st as a historical day of freedom, sacrifice, and self-determination, which has given the region its identity. He remarked that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan achieved freedom in 1947 by struggling against the Dogra Raj, an achievement that continues to serve as a beacon of light for the community.
