Gondal appreciates achievement of Employees’ old-age benefits institution

Karachi, July 05, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chairman EOBI Zafar Iqbal Gondal appreciated the achievement of EOBI and hoped that they would perform even better in the forthcoming year. He was presiding over the meeting with regional Heads of Karachi, Hyderabad, Kotri and Hub at EOBI Head Office Karachi.

He said “EOB pension funds belong to the aged, invalid workers and their survivors. The Institution is custodian of this trust money so the officials being trustees, should collect and distribute it with the sense of sheer dedication, honesty and care”

He further said that EOBI is a welfare organization and its doing its level best to bring about positive changes in the life of working community of industrial, commercial and other organizations.

Chairman EOBI said that during the tenure of the present Government EOBI benefits package for its registered employees has been improved and currently it is paying Rs. 900 million every month to over 400,000 pensioners.

He appreciated the performance of all employees particularly field staff and expressed his satisfaction on EOBI achievements for assigned targets for the financial year 2011-12.

Earlier Director General (Operations) Javed Iqbal has presented a detailed briefing on collection of contribution from registered employers and employees. He further informed that EOBI has collected Rs 900 million above its assigned target of Rs 10 Billion inspite of unfavourable economic condition.

The meeting was attended among others by D.G (F and A), Mr. Najm ul Saqib, DG HR Pervaiz Ahmed Khan, (Special Advisor) Mr. Sher Muhammad P.D (I.T) Mr. Ayaz Uqaili and all Regional Heads from Sindh and Balochistan attend this important meeting.
