Google to Produce 600,000 Chromebooks Annually in Pakistan

Islamabad: Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced that Google will manufacture approximately 600,000 Chromebooks each year in Pakistan. Speaking to the media in Islamabad, she revealed that Google has completed its registration in the country and plans to open its office soon.

According to Radio Pakistan, Shaza Fatima stated that Google, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence Production and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation, has started Chromebook manufacturing in Haripur. This project is expected to provide a significant boost to Pakistan’s IT manufacturing industry.

The initiative is designed to supply affordable, high-quality devices, particularly targeting students and the education sector.
