Government and Opposition Committees Hold Second Round of Talks in Islamabad

Islamabad: The government and opposition negotiation committees convened for a second round of talks in Islamabad, discussing various issues in an attempt to bridge differences. Representatives from both sides engaged in dialogue aimed at fostering a collaborative environment for future discussions.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the government delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, with participation from Rana Sanaullah, Irfan Siddiqui, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, Farooq Sattar, Ijaz-ul-Haq, and Khalid Hussain Magsi. The opposition was represented by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, alongside Salman Akram Raja, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Asad Qaisar, Omar Ayub, and Raja Nasir Abbas.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui, speaking to the media following the meeting, indicated that the next round of talks is scheduled for the following week. The opposition has requested additional time for consultation and to seek guidance from the PTI founder. Siddiqui noted that the meeting took place in a conducive environment, expressing hope that the PTI will present its charter of demands in written form during the next session.
