Government Committed to Eliminating Terrorism: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has affirmed the government’s commitment to the complete eradication of terrorism from the country, emphasizing the importance of support from all provinces, stakeholders, and the people of Pakistan. During a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he expressed strong condemnation of the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Cabinet offered Fateha for the departed souls, including the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, as well as citizens, security personnel, and law enforcement officials who were martyred in the recent attacks in Balochistan. The Prime Minister highlighted his discussions with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reiterating the government’s commitment to fostering development and prosperity through cooperation and harmony between the federation and the province.

In a gesture of solidarity, the Prime Minister expressed support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, conveying a message of unity on behalf of the government of Pakistan and the entire nation. Additionally, Shahbaz Sharif informed the Federal Cabinet of the decision not to participate in a T20 World Cup match against India as a show of solidarity with Bangladesh.

The Prime Minister also briefed the Cabinet on Pakistan’s diplomatic relations, particularly noting the recent visit of the President of Kazakhstan and the upcoming visit of the Uzbek President to Pakistan. The meeting approved, in principle, decisions made during the Economic Cooperation Committee session on February 3, the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises on January 9, and the Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases on January 29.
