Government Initiatives Boost Youth Empowerment Through Skill Development

Islamabad: Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to empower youth through skill development initiatives. Addressing a seminar on Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Islamabad, he emphasized the significance of the Skill Development Programme under the Prime Minister Youth Programme, noting its expansion to become one of the largest in the country. Khan stressed the government’s commitment to providing young people access to various fields.

According to Radio Pakistan, Khan also showcased the success of the ‘Digital Youth Hub’ portal, which has seen over six hundred thousand young individuals register. The portal has achieved notable milestones, with two million downloads and over seven hundred thousand local and international companies signing up.

During the ceremony, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, addressed the demographic potential of Pakistan, noting that sixty-four percent of the population is under thirty years old. He described this demographic as a powerful asset, contingent on effective utilization. Siddiqui pointed out the disparity between the two to three million young people entering the labor market annually and the country’s national training capacity of four hundred thousand, emphasizing the government’s determination to address this critical gap.
