Pakistan Terms US Consultations with Arab, OIC as Noteworthy Development

Islamabad: Pakistan has hailed the recent consultations conducted by President Trump with Arab and OIC leaders, along with the announcement made by the United States, as a noteworthy development at the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, emphasized in a statement at the General Assembly that such initiatives have the potential to address the urgent needs of the region. He highlighted the importance of an immediate ceasefire, an end to ongoing conflicts, unfettered humanitarian assistance, and the establishment of a credible political horizon towards Palestinian statehood.

Ahmad reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to these consultations, indicating that the country will strive to ensure that efforts are measured by their outcomes rather than mere promises. He called for an end to the violence, the cessation of occupation, the reunification of families, the reconstruction of Gaza, and the assurance of protection and dignity for the Palestinian people.
