Government of Sindh intends to see progress and development of women in every sector: Naheed Memon

Karachi, March 21, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chairperson Sindh Board of Investment (SBI), Ms. Naheed Memon on Wednesday said that the government of Sindh intends to see progress and development of women in every sector. She said this while addressing a seminar in connection with the International Women Day at a hotel here today. The Chairperson SBI said that the women across Pakistan are being provided more opportunities as compare to other parts in the region.

She said that the women section requires better opportunities in economic sector and they needed to be provided more opportunities in health, education, employment and other sectors, as compare to the men. Ms. Naheed called upon the women to put in more struggle and hard work to avail the opportunities and the Sindh government is taking far-sighted and progressive initiatives to facilitate the women.

She said that the women in Pakistan are serving as pilot, as army officer and they also excelled in other professions as well. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was the first woman prime minister of the Islamic World, she recalled. The event was organised by the Employer’s Federation of Pakistan (EFP) in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO).

President EFP, Majid Aziz and other office bearers of the Federation were also present. Prominent Women excelled in different fields also shared their views on the occasion. Later, the chief guest and other speakers were also presented momentous on the occasion.
