Government Seeks Constructive Talks with PTI Amid Corruption Allegations

Islamabad: The government has expressed its intention to continue negotiations with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in a constructive manner, according to Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting. The minister emphasized that the discussions would be centered around transparent dealings, firmly stating that no compromises or deals would be entertained concerning corruption charges.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar addressed the media in Islamabad, highlighting the Al-Qadir Trust case, which involves a significant amount of 190 million pounds. He described it as a major corruption scandal in the nation’s history. The minister accused the PTI founder, alongside associates Bushra Bibi and Farah Gogi, of misappropriating funds without a legitimate source of income.

Tarar also referred to the World Economic Forum’s report on Pakistan’s economic condition. He pointed out reductions in policy rates and inflation as notable achievements, indicating a positive economic sentiment in the country over the past ten months. He noted that these developments have contributed to an influx of foreign investments.
