Govt Aims to Boost Healthcare Access Nationwide, Prime Minister Says

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare access across the nation, focusing on the development of facilities under federal jurisdiction.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting in Islamabad concerning the Ministry of National Health Services. He instructed that Islamabad’s healthcare system be developed into a model for the rest of the country.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif directed officials to expedite work on the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Center. He called for the immediate initiation of the pre-qualification process for procuring medical and surgical equipment, stressing that this should be overseen by an expert consultant.

Additionally, the Prime Minister mandated a third-party audit for both the construction and equipment procurement processes at the Jinnah Medical Complex.

He also instructed the initiation of the approval process for the charter of a university affiliated with the complex, underlining the government’s focus on educational advancements in healthcare.
