Govt focusing on knowledge-based economy: Ahsan

Islamabad, May 04, 2023 (PPI-OT): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says government is focusing on knowledge-based economy with an aim to revamp our education system. Addressing the launching ceremony of Pakistan Human Capital Review report in Islamabad on Thursday, he emphasized the need for working on the country’s human capital.

The Minister said the present government has taken a number of steps to revamp the education system which includes a premier league initiative to develop 12 to 15 Pakistani universities at par with international standards to include them in top one hundred universities of Asia.

He said a national task force for human and skill development, comprising experts from private and government sector, has been established, which will give roadmap on what new skills and approach we need to pursue in our human development. Ahsan Iqbal said long term and consistent policies are inevitable for stable economy.
