Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Free and Responsible Media, Says Tarar

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a free, responsible, and vibrant media in Pakistan. On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, he expressed this resolve in a post on X today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted that Pakistan’s traditional media has long stood as a strong pillar of public trust and democratic values. He mentioned that during Marka-e-Haq, the media played a responsible and patriotic role in informing the world with balance and clarity.

The Minister also emphasized that the media in Pakistan is gradually adapting to modern tools and global connectivity. Digital platforms are playing a crucial role in projecting Pakistan’s true image and potential on the global stage.

Attaullah Tarar conveyed the government’s appreciation for the efforts of journalists and media workers. He reiterated the commitment to media freedom, responsibility, and a brighter future for all media in Pakistan.
