Govt to provide interest-free loans for E-Working Centers: IT Minister

Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Dr Umar Saif has said the government would provide interest-free loans for establishing E-Working Centers to facilitate freelancers.

Talking to newsmen in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that each freelancer will receive financial assistance of 100,000 rupees to set up E-Working Center. He said the initiative is aimed to address the current challenge faced by approximately 1.5 million freelancers who lack suitable workspaces.

Highlighting Pakistan’s status as the seventh-largest mobile phone market with 190 million users, Dr. Umar Saif outlined the government’s vision to promote local manufacturing of affordable, high-quality mobile phones.
