LAHORE: The government has introduced a strategic framework to rejuvenate the country’s industrial sector, as announced by Rana Tanveer Hussain, the Minister for Industries and Production. The initiative, crafted with input from foreign experts and technocrats, aims to provide comprehensive support to the business community while addressing existing challenges.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the framework is part of a broader effort to stimulate industrial growth. Minister Hussain, speaking to reporters, emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating business operations by removing the remaining obstacles in the sector.
Negotiations are currently in progress with Independent Power Producers, a key component of the framework. The Minister assured that significant developments are expected by April, which could enhance the operational efficiency of industries.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the government’s focus on reducing the interest rate to a single digit, citing a reduction from twenty-two to thirteen percent as a positive step in this direction. These measures are seen as crucial in making the industrial environment more conducive to investment and growth.
