Punjab Seeks Stronger Economic Ties with Japan

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with the Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Akamatsu Shuichi, to discuss expanding bilateral relations in various sectors including agriculture, minerals, IT, AI, robotics, and energy. The meeting focused on increasing economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to a statement by Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of exploring new avenues for economic collaboration with Japan. She noted the strong bilateral relationship and expressed appreciation for Japan’s support during the 2022 floods.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif also highlighted Japan’s contributions to development projects and public welfare initiatives in Pakistan. She extended an invitation to Japanese businessmen to invest in Punjab, promising them necessary facilities and protection.

Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi acknowledged the progress in public welfare initiatives under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. He invited the Chief Minister to visit Japan, an offer which she accepted.
