Gwadar Authorities Strategize for Upcoming National Immunization Day to Eradicate Polio

Gwadar: Deputy Commissioner Hamoud-ur-Rehman led a critical meeting to finalize preparations for the National Immunization Day (NID) anti-polio campaign scheduled from October 28 to November 1, 2024. The meeting drew key health officials and stakeholders to assess prior campaign efforts and bolster future strategies to eradicate polio.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the session included comprehensive reviews of the previous anti-polio initiatives, where Dr. Abdul Wahid Baloch, Dr. Hafeez Baloch, and WHO’s Dr. Zafar Iqbal, among others, provided detailed briefings. Discussions focused on the challenges encountered, achievements, and the overall quality of past campaigns. Deputy Commissioner Rehman emphasized the importance of effective human resource utilization and the selection of skilled staff at the union council level to ensure comprehensive campaign coverage and rigorous monitoring.

The meeting also outlined an integrated strategy to ensure meticulous preparations and continuous monitoring for the upcoming campaign, aiming at the complete eradication of polio from the region.
