Gwadar Cracks Down on Non-Compliant Bakeries and Restaurants

Gwadar: In a stringent drive to enforce the pricing regulations and improve public service, the Anti-encroachment Cell, led by Shakeel Ahmed Baloch, conducted several raids on local bakeries and restaurants. The operation, directed by Assistant Commissioner Mir Jawad Ahmad Zahri, aimed to implement the rules laid out by the Price Control Committee and address the public’s complaints about unfair trade practices in the city.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the enforcement teams specifically targeted various ‘nanbai’ (bread) shops across Gwadar to inspect the weight and quality of the bread being sold. During the inspection, it was discovered that numerous shopkeepers were selling bread that was below the regulated weight. As a result of these findings, Shakeel Baloch arrested 10 bakers on the spot for misconduct and violations of the official price list, and fines were imposed on them for their discrepancies.

Furthermore, the operation extended to two additional restaurants where violations regarding cleanliness were noted. The unsatisfactory state of hygiene prompted immediate action from the authorities. Mir Jawad Ahmad Zahri, overseeing the operation, issued a stern warning that any shopkeeper found violating government regulations or engaging in malpractice would face severe consequences, including the sealing of their shop and stringent legal action.

The district administration has announced that these actions will persist into the future with the goal of ensuring fair business practices and the overall convenience of the citizens.
