Gwadar Officials Launch Compliance Crackdown on Overpriced Hotels

Gwadar: Assistant Commissioner Mir Jawad Ahmad Zahri has initiated an enforcement campaign targeting hotels and restaurants along Sarbandan Cross to Shankani Dar, following multiple citizen complaints about excessive pricing and poor sanitary conditions. The move aims to ensure adherence to official pricing and cleanliness standards, with severe penalties for non-compliance.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, a statement from the Assistant Commissioner’s office detailed the deployment of a team led by Shakeel Baloch, in-charge of the Complaint Cell, to inspect the implicated locations. Notices were issued to hotel owners, who were cautioned that failure to comply with the stipulated tariffs or cleanliness guidelines would result in arrests and substantial fines. The initiative also emphasizes the importance of displaying official price lists to assist customers in verifying charges and encourages public reporting of any overpricing incidents at the Assistant Commissioner’s office in Gwadar. This enforcement drive seeks not only to maintain fair pricing but also to enhance sanitary conditions, providing a clean and healthy environment for both residents and visitors.
