Handmade carpet industry attends Xining International Carpet Exhibition 2015

Lahore, June 29, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Xining International Carpet Exhibition 2015, being held on June 25-29 in Qinghai, provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the unique quality Pakistani handmade carpets to the Chinese market, the major potential market of Pakistani hand-knotted carpets.

This was stated by the Punjab Minister of Industries Ch. Muhammad Shafique, who is presently leading the team of PCMEA exhibitors along with senior vice chairman Qamar Zia and former chairman Major (r) Akhtar Nazir Cooki in Qinghai.

The minister said that Xining international Carpet Exhibition would help the Pakistani carpet industry to enhance its competitiveness and tap the future market of China. He said that successful participation of Pakistani exhibitors in Xining international Carpet Exhibition will provide an opportunity to our local industry to explore opportunities of joint ventures with foreign counterparts for encouraging economic activities between the two nations.

In this mega event, PCMEA Sr. Vice Chairman Qamar Zia received best organization award on behalf of PCMEA. Former chairman of PCMEA and BOI Pakistan Honorary Consul to China, Akhtar Nazir Khan Cooki, who has been working to strengthen Pak-China trade ties, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Major Cooki, on this occasion, observed that he has succeeded to get preferential policy for Pakistani exhibitors in that show by the Chinese authorities. Highlighting this auspicious occasion, he said that it was great opportunity for Pakistani participants to take advantage of this event by getting maximum share of Chinese markets to expand the trade volume with China.

PCMEA SVC Qamar Zia said Pakistan and China had good relations and with exchange of trade delegations the cordial relation between both the countries would further strengthen the friendship of both the countries. He further said exchange of delegations and holding exhibitions will not only increase bilateral trade but also support transfer of technology.
