Hurriyet leaders pay tributes to Kulgam youth

Srinagar, May 27, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyet leaders while paying rich tributes to a Kashmiri youth, who was martyred by Indian troops during a siege and search operation in Kulgam on Monday, have reiterated to carry forward the martyrs’ mission and protect their sacrifices at any cost.

Syed Ali Gilani while telephonically addressing the funeral procession of the youth said that due to the rigid and stubborn approach of India, the loss of precious human lives in Jammu and Kashmir continued unabated. “Our youth sacrifice their lives every day to fight the forced Indian military occupation,” he said. A spokesman for his forum in a statement said that on the directions of Gilani, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Mir Hafizullah, Mohammad Shaban Dar and Shaikh Mohammad Ramzan visited Kulgam and participated in the funeral prayers of the slain youth.

In his condolence message, Gilani said, “No conscious human being likes violence by nature but when a person is denied the right to live the life he wants, he has no option but to resist and without caring for the results, he fights back. Kashmiris are peace loving and very humble and follow ‘live and let live’ policy but India landed its troops in Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 and forcibly enslaved the people of this region.”

“We used peaceful and democratic ways for about 40 long years to oppose the Indian forced occupation but New Delhi paid no heed to those peaceful voices and tried hard to muzzle the voice with the help of its military power. The direction which our freedom struggle adopted after the 1989 was the reaction of the arrogant policies of India and when New Delhi continued to close his eyes from the ground realities, the Kashmiri people in 2008, 2009 and 2010 come out on roads in huge number and openly expressed their wishes and desire,” he said. “India once again neglected the referendum of the peaceful public uprising which prompted the youths to explore other options and they left universities and colleges and chose the path of the brave people,” he said.

“Rigidity and arrogance of India will lead India nowhere and nor can this policy address the Kashmir issue but this disputed region will continue to influence the political, social and economical condition of the whole South Asian region. The millions of people of this region are badly suffering due to the lingering of the Kashmir dispute and if the issue is not solved on the priority bases, the condition of the common man in this region will further fall to a miserable level,” he added.

Hurriyet leader, Zafar Akbar Butt along with a Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement team visited Kulgam to pay glowing tributes to the slain youth. He on the occasion reiterated the pledge to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end. A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League also visited Channigam Kulgam and paid homage to the youth.

Other Hurriyet leaders including Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Aasiya Andrabi, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Javed Ahmad Mir, Zamruda Habib and Muhammad Ramzan Khan in their statements also paid tributes to the martyred youth.
