IG Punjab Orders Swift Action After Rape Incident During Robbery in Faisalabad

Faisalabad: Following a distressing incident in the Nishatabad area of Faisalabad, where a girl was raped during a robbery, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has called for immediate action. The IG has demanded a thorough investigation and the swift arrest of the suspects involved in this heinous crime.

According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 28 September 2024, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed the Chief Police Officer (CPO) of Faisalabad to utilize all available resources to ensure the rapid apprehension and prosecution of the perpetrators. He has also requested a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Faisalabad on the incident.

Dr. Anwar emphasized the importance of a strong response to such violent crimes, insisting on stringent penalties for those found guilty, to serve as a deterrent against future offenses. The police are currently mobilizing to track down and arrest those responsible for this act, as part of broader efforts to enhance safety and security in the area.
