Punjab Hosts World Bank for Review of Human Capital Investment Project

Lahore: The Planning and Development Board of Punjab chaired a significant meeting with a World Bank mission led by Senior Social Protection Specialist Mr. Sohail S. Abbasi. The session, held at the AKS Auditorium, focused on reviewing the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project (PHCIP), aimed at enhancing human capital investments in the region.

According to Planning and Development Board – Punjab announcement issued on 27 September 2024, the wrap-up meeting served as a platform to assess the progress of the PHCIP and address various operational challenges. The discussion particularly centered on evaluating the project’s procurement processes, financial management, and safeguard arrangements, essential for steering the project toward its strategic goals.

Secretary of the P and D Board, Dr. Asif Tufail, highlighted the meeting’s success in aligning the project’s objectives with broader human capital investments in Punjab. The session also provided an opportunity for members of the P and D Board and representatives from relevant departments to finalize the work plan for the remaining duration of the project, ensuring a cohesive approach to achieving the desired outcomes.
