IG Punjab Resolves Thousands of Complaints at 1787 Center

Lahore: IG Punjab’s 1787 Complaint Center has effectively addressed over 3,500 grievances in the initial 20 days of the year, focusing on case registration and investigation delays.

According to a statement by Punjab Police, the center has resolved more than 1,600 complaints pertaining to case registrations and over 810 related to sluggish investigations. Additionally, it addressed over 500 grievances concerning police services and more than 200 about departmental issues.

The spokesperson noted that more than 160 complaints regarding criminal arrests, 354 about recoveries, and over 159 concerning poor investigations were resolved. Furthermore, the center handled over 75 complaints about the cancellation of false cases and 40 regarding changes in investigations. Notably, 18 missing persons were recovered through the center.

IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, encouraged the public to utilize the 1787 Complaint Center for any issues with police officers, assuring that complaints are addressed within set timeframes and monitored actively to enhance efficiency. He directed all District Police Officers to oversee complaint resolutions personally via the 1787 system to ensure timely action.
