IHK authorities to arrest Mirwaiz Umar in false case

Srinagar, June 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have told a Srinagar court that they will arrest the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a case registered against him in 2010.The case pertains to the rally from Eidgah to Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Eid day in 2010 led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. The offices of Power Development Department and Crime Branch at Jehangir Chowk were burnt down by unknown persons on that day.

During hearing of the case, 1st Additional Munsif, Srinagar, Javid Ahmad Naik, remanded the illegally detained senior liberation leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, to four-day police remand.

Besides Mirwaiz and Mushtaq, others named in the FIR which was registered by police in September 2010 include Hurriyet leaders, Muhammad Yaqoob Vakil and Nisar Hussain Rather.

Mushtaq-ul-Islam was produced before the court by the personnel from Kothi Bagh Police Station in connection with the case. The court directed the prosecution to keep Mushtaq in Kothi Bagh Police Station and produce him before it on Monday.

Earlier, Mushtaq told court that he has been implicated in the FIR. He also complained that he was not provided water for ablution at Kralkhud Police Station for offering prayers.

Mushtaq’s aged mother, Raja, who was also present in the court, said that the police was not allowing her to meet her son. “Policemen told me that he was not in Kralkhud Police Station when I approached them soon after knowing that my son has been kept there,” she said.

Advocates Nazir Ahmed Ronga, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, Mir Shafaqat Hussain and Mir Urfi, represented Mushtaq-ul-Islam in the court.

Mushtaq was rearrested on April 18, this year, after District Magistrate Srinagar issued his release orders.
