IMF Meeting Claims Denied by Federal Board of Revenue

Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has refuted reports broadcasted by certain electronic media outlets claiming that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has rejected a request from FBR for a revision of targets.

According to Federal Board of Revenue, no such meeting has taken place with the IMF on the subject of revising targets. The FBR has stated that this topic has never been on the agenda in any meetings, whether conducted virtually or otherwise, with the IMF. The FBR has categorically denied the reports and has urged the national media to avoid spreading stories that could potentially harm national interests.
