India Cannot Suspend Indus Waters Treaty Unilaterally: Qaiser

Islamabad: Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh stated that India cannot suspend the Indus Waters Treaty unilaterally, describing any such action as illegal and contrary to international law. Sheikh made these comments while addressing the launch ceremony of a research report titled ‘Water, Climate, and Diplomacy: Securing Pakistan’s Indus Basin Future’ in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining the treaty to ensure regional stability. He warned that continued tensions over water resources could have significant implications for South Asia and global peace.
