India deploying over 38000 additional troops in IOK

New Delhi, November 09, 2014 (PPI-OT): India has decided to deploy a total of 38100 paramilitary personnel in occupied Kashmir before the so-called assembly elections. The Indian Home Ministry has ordered 381 companies of various paramilitary forces like Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), BSF, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and state police reserve units to move to occupied Kashmir. A single company of these forces comprises about 100 personnel.

A total of 136 companies have also been asked to report to Election Commission authorities in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

With these deployments, over 51,000 personnel of Indian paramilitary force would reinforce the already deployed Indian army and paramilitary force in Kashmir and Jharkand ahead of election drama.

They have been given marching orders recently,” a senior officer said.

According to latest data, the CRPF has close to 65 battalions deployed in the interiors of Kashmir apart from a dozen others of forces like BSF and SSB which will also be used for peripheral duties during Assembly polls in the territory.
