Srinagar, August 02, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and the All Parties Hurriyet Conference have outrightly rejected the Indian plan to permanently settle the retired army personnel and their families in the territory.
The forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said that settling or allotting land to army personnel or citizens of India would be the clear violation of the international laws, because Jammu and Kashmir was an internationally-recognized disputed territory and the decision for its future was still pending. The forum reiterated that an agitation movement would be launched if New Delhi did not stop from going ahead with the plan.
An APHC spokesman in his statement asserted that any attempt on the part of India to alter the distinct identity of Jammu and Kashmir would be opposed, tooth and nail. The spokesman said that Jammu and Kashmir being a recognized disputed territory was on the agenda of the United Nations, and India had no authority to alter demographic, legal or constitutional position of this territory. Hurriyet leader, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement said that puppet regimes for their petty political and personal gains had from time to time collaborated with their masters in Delhi to work for the complete merger of Kashmir with India.
Meanwhile, the puppet authorities continued to place Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani and Shabbir Ahmed Shah under house arrest in Srinagar. On the other hand, the cavalcade of puppet Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Syed Basharat Bukhari came under attack near Pandora Park in Pattan. The windowpanes of some of the escort vehicles were broken in the attack.
