Indian BSF Constable Dies by Suicide with Service Rifle in Rajasthan

Jaipur: An Indian 44-year-old head constable of the Border Security Force (BSF) committed suicide in Rajasthan state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the 44-year-old head constable, Krishna Kumar, from Hoshiarpur in Punjab, was posted at the Bhonu border outpost in Shahgarh, near the India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer district. Kumar shot himself with his service rifle, Indian police reported.

“The exact reasons behind the suicide are not clear yet,” said Jaisalmer Circle Officer Roop Singh Inda.

Hearing the gunshot, fellow soldiers rushed to the scene and found him dead, police stated. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted today, the officer added.
