Jammu: In a recent sweep in Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian security forces have detained eight youths under accusations of militancy support.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrests were carried out by personnel from the Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force, and Special Operation Group during a series of cordon and search operations and house raids across several areas, including Ambe Naal, Bhadu, Juthana, Soffain, and Kattal. The police have labeled the detained individuals as over-ground workers of militants, allegedly involved in activities supporting the regional freedom struggle.
The operations have also placed over 50 local residents under investigation for purportedly providing logistical support to these militants, including food, shelter, and communications assistance, as stated by a police spokesperson.
Additionally, Indian troops have intensified their cordon and search operations across various districts including Islamabad, Kathua, Kishtwar Doda, and Udhampur, affecting numerous towns and villages in the region.
