Indian-Origin Businessman Implicated in Lebanon Pager Explosions

Beirut: Rinson Jose, a 37-year-old Norwegian citizen of Indian origin, has been linked to the recent pager blasts in Lebanon on September 17, which resulted in significant casualties and widespread injuries. Jose, originally from Wayanad, Kerala, is under investigation for his potential role in the supply chain of the explosive devices.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the tragic event led to the deaths of at least 20 individuals and left thousands injured, prompting an extensive international probe involving multiple countries such as Taiwan, Bulgaria, Norway, and Romania. Jose’s company, Norta Global Limited based in Bulgaria, is suspected of facilitating the acquisition of the pagers used in the bombings.

Investigations reveal that the pagers, manufactured by Hungarian firm BAC Consulting and sold under the trademark of Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, were ostensibly procured through Jose’s business operations. Reports from Telex, a Hungarian news source, suggest that while the official contract was between BAC Consulting and Gold Apollo, Norta Global was the actual entity managing the transaction. Since the incident, Jose has not been located and remains missing.
