inDrive’s Helmet Initiative Spotlights Urgent Road Safety Needs Across Pakistan

Lahore: inDrive, a prominent global mobility service, has declared an ambitious commitment to distribute 15,000 helmets nationwide, marking a significant step towards enhancing road safety in Pakistan. This initiative, launched in partnership with the City Traffic Police Lahore, underscores a mutual ambition to foster safer transportation and cultivate responsible driving behavior.

Dr. Fahad Ahmad, Senior Superintendent of Police for City Traffic, emphasized the value of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership with inDrive mirrors our mutual goal of protecting daily commuters. We commend inDrive’s proactive stance on road safety and support endeavors that benefit workers and promote safer working environments across Punjab.”

Awais Saeed, the Country Head of inDrive Pakistan, elaborated on the initiative’s objectives, highlighting the importance of equipping drivers with helmets to mitigate risks and foster responsible riding habits. He noted, “Our collaboration with Lahore Traffic Police illustrates how public and private entities can unite to safeguard those who keep our cities operational.”

The timing of this initiative is crucial, as Pakistan grapples with challenges related to road safety awareness, minimal helmet usage, and increasing accident rates among motorcyclists. Motorbikes are integral to Pakistan’s gig economy, crucial for both mobility and delivery services, placing drivers at significant risk.

inDrive has long been an advocate for fairness and safety within its operations. This latest pledge aligns with its comprehensive strategy to incorporate safety at every level, from in-app features like real-time ride sharing and emergency alerts to driver training programs and partnerships with public institutions.

Through these measures, inDrive and its allies aim to elevate safety standards in the industry, demonstrating that genuine road safety is achievable only through collective responsibility and ongoing efforts.
