Info Minister launches major overhaul of PTV

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has launched a comprehensive overhaul of Pakistan Television.

As part of this comprehensive overhaul, he has shut-down 25 low-performing shows and introduced a new policy focused on transparency, professionalism, and constructive criticism.

In a statement, Attaullah Tarar pledged to eradicate the culture of bribery, address incompetence, and combat fake news on PTV. He emphasized that this initiative marks the beginning of “Operation Clean Up.”

Additionally, the Minister revealed plans to recruit professional anchors and producers to enhance the quality of programming.

Attaullah Tarar also signaled that actions will be taken against individuals engaging in malicious social media campaigns against these reforms.
