Info Minister reiterates Government’s commitment to revive economy

Islamabad, February 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has reiterated government’s commitment to revive economy. Addressing a news conference in Abbottabad, she said the government is focussed on national development and prosperity with ultimate objective of self-reliance.

The Information Minister said the PTI government singed agreement with IMF on tough conditions and then itself violated its provisions. She said the present government had no option but to renegotiate the agreement for revival of the economy.

Talking about amendments in the PEMRA Act, the Information Minister said the amendments have been approved by federal cabinet and currently the Cabinet’s Legislation Committee is working on them. She said under the amended law, no payment of government dues would be made to those media houses which fail to pay salaries to their employees.
