Information Ministry Rejects Afghan Taliban’s Claim on Wana Strike

Wana: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has firmly rejected the Afghan Taliban’s claim regarding a purported successful strike in Wana. In a recent post shared on its X handle, the Ministry clarified that a basic drone was intercepted and neutralized over South Waziristan using soft-kill measures. Contrary to the Taliban’s claims, no military installation or infrastructure in the area was affected.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry emphasized that the Taliban regime’s assertions are part of a consistent strategy of disseminating propaganda and fabricating stories. The Ministry highlighted previous false claims made by the Taliban, including allegations of shooting down Pakistan Air Force aircraft and capturing pilots. These narratives, the Ministry pointed out, are baseless and serve to mislead.

To support its statement, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also shared a photograph of the drone debris on its X handle, underscoring its stance that truth ultimately triumphs over falsehood. The Ministry’s response aims to counter misinformation and maintain transparency regarding security matters in the region.
