Inquiry into Chattisinghpora massacre sought

Srinagar, October 21, 2014 (PPI-OT): The High Court of occupied Kashmir has admitted a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking inquiry into Chattisinghpora massacre and issued notice to the puppet regime led by Omar Abdullah and Indian Home Ministry to respond to the petition, which also seeks appointment of board for welfare of Sikh community.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar, and Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar granted two weeks time to the respondents to file their reply to the litigation filed by petitioner Sardar Avtar Singh Sodhi.

The petitioner has sought an inquiry into killing of 35 Sikhs in Chattisinghpora area of Islamabad district in 2000. The Sikhs were killed by some persons in Indian Army fatigues on March 20 in 2000 when the then US President, Bill Clinton, was on a visit to India.
