Inspector General of Police Sindh orders foolproof security for by-polls

Karachi, April 06, 2016 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Allah Dino Khawaja on Wednesday ordered officials concerned for foolproof security cover to national and provincial by-polls on NA 245 and PS 115, scheduled in the metropolis. While reviewing the security contingency plan of Sindh Police for by-polls, IGP Khawaja further directed them to tighten security for the voters, candidates, polling staff and returning officers during the election.

According to the security plan, during the by-polls, all polling stations will be divided into three categories, including most sensitive, sensitive and normal, where at least 3940 police constables and officials would be deployed to ensure foolproof security of visitors and officials. Police constables and officials will ensure the patrolling via police mobiles and motorcycles to avoid any untoward incident during the polls.

All polling stations will also be properly swiped by bomb disposal technical squad as well as sufficient contingent of police including SRP and RRF will be deployed for better security. IG Khawaja issued directives to all police stations particularly District East and West to initiate snap checking, picketing and ensure sharing of intelligence based information in their respective areas so that the better security could be ensured.
