Karachi, June 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Southern Regional Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) is organizing a Federal Budget Seminar 2013 – 2014 te be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at local hotel, Karachi.
Ansar Javed, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue will be the Chief Guest and S.M. Muneer, Former President, Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman, Din Group of Industries, Shaikh Saqib Masood, FCA, Chairman, Taxation Committee, ICAP, Ebrahim Yacoob Sidat, FCA, Country Managing Partner, Ernst and Young Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder, Syed Masoud Ali Naqvi, FCA, Senior Partner, KPMG Taseer Hadi and Co, S.M. Shabbar Zaidi, FCA, Partner, Tax Services, A.F. Ferguson and Co, Riaz A. In 2013, Pakistanis have voted for change. This change is necessitated and deeply awaited in every sphere of life including; law and order, health facilities, provision of quality education, employment opportunities, access to justice, business environment and tax policies.
Aimed huge expectations from the masses, the new Government in Islamabad will table the Federal Budget 2013-2014 in the second week of June 2013. During the recent past, the nation was bracing itself for heavy tax measures planned to be introduced by way of a Presidential Ordinance.
While the financial press and rumour mill constantly releasing inside stories purporting to suggest that such planned measures are to be incorporated in the upcoming Finance Bill 2013, the business community expects bold but right decisions from the Government this time aimed at uplifting the sluggish business environment across the country. Thus, this year the Federal Budget is certainly poised to mark as an important National event.
