International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction Observed with Focus on Resilience Funding

Islamabad: International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction was observed on Monday. The day is marked annually to promote a global culture of disaster risk awareness and reduction.

According to Radio Pakistan, this year’s theme is “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters,” emphasizing the importance of investing in strategies and infrastructures that enhance the ability to withstand and recover from disasters, rather than focusing solely on response and recovery efforts after they occur. The theme aims to shift the focus towards proactive measures that can mitigate the impact of disasters on communities worldwide.
