Karachi: International Albinism Awareness Day was observed on Saturday. Albinism, a genetic condition inherited from both parents, occurs worldwide and impacts individuals regardless of ethnicity or gender.
According to Radio Pakistan, this year’s theme, “Proudly in my skin – celebrating all skin tones,” was aimed at highlighting the challenges faced by people with albinism. The theme emphasized the need to address color-based discrimination, which can significantly affect the dignity, safety, and mental well-being of those living with the condition.
