IOK authorities flayed for detaining Hurriyet leaders

Srinagar, October 24, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum patronized by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has condemned the puppet authorities for placing almost all Hurriyet leaders under house arrest on the occasion of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to Srinagar, yesterday (Thursday).

The forum spokesman, Ayaz Akbar in a media interview in Srinagar said that the strike observed by the people of the occupied territory on the visit of Narendra Modi was an eye-opener for New Delhi and clearly indicated that the Kashmiris were against Indian occupation and wanted settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per their aspirations.

The spokesman terming Modi’s visit to Kashmir on the occasion of Diwali an election stunt saying that he wanted to woo Hindu votes from the Jammu region. “Indian democracy is hollow. Authorities have placed Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ghulam Muhammad Ganai, and all other Hurriyet leaders under house arrest to give an impression to Modi that everything is normal in Kashmir,” he said, adding that fight against Indian occupation would continue till a single Indian trooper was present in the territory.

Ayaz Akbar said that the BJP-led government had no sympathy with Kashmiri Muslims and its only agenda was to strengthen its vote bank. “To visit Muslim majority Kashmir on the occasion of Diwali is not surprising but it clearly exposes Modi’s communal designs,” he added.
