Iran Announces Opening of Strait of Hormuz

Iran: Iran has announced that the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is completely open. This significant development was communicated by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in a post on X on Friday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the decision to open the passage was taken in line with the ceasefire in Lebanon. The Foreign Minister stated that the passage is open on the coordinated route as already announced by the Ports and Maritime Organisation of Iran. This move is expected to facilitate smooth maritime traffic through one of the world’s most crucial waterways.
