President, PM Welcome Ceasefire in Lebanon

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon. In a statement, the President described it as an important step towards reducing tensions in the region, emphasizing that the ceasefire presents an opportunity to move towards lasting peace.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a post on his X handle, highlighted that the ceasefire in Lebanon was facilitated through bold and sagacious diplomatic efforts led by President Donald Trump. He expressed optimism that it will pave the way for sustainable peace. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon and stated that Pakistan will continue to support all efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region.
