Iranian Military Chief Meets Pakistani President to Discuss Bilateral Relations

Islamabad: Major General Dr Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr to exchange views on matters of mutual interest between the two countries.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the meeting underscored the longstanding and fraternal relations that exist between Pakistan and Iran. Both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing trade and economic ties for the benefit of both nations.

During their discussions, the leaders identified terrorism as a common challenge and stressed the necessity for effective and coordinated measures to combat it. Major General Bagheri also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s stance on Gaza and Lebanon.
