Iraq Recognizes Pakistan’s Contributions to Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Rawalpindi: During a key meeting at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi, Iraq’s Secretary of Defence, Lieutenant General Ahmed Dawood Salman, met with Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, to discuss security and defense cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions focused on the emerging security environment and the enhancement of bilateral security and defense relations between Iraq and Pakistan. The Iraqi official lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized the significant sacrifices made by both the Pakistani military and its people in their extensive counter-terrorism efforts.

The meeting underscores a growing partnership between the two nations, aimed at addressing mutual security challenges and reinforcing their commitment to regional stability.
