Islamabad: Islamabad Operational Police have been assigned task to complete survey in all residential areas especially Afghan habitats and slum areas within three weeks.
This assignment has been given to all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) of all circles and Station House Officers of all police stations by Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan in a meeting held here.
The SSP said that Islamabad Police have introduced new proforma for compiling update information about residents of each area.
It is to mention that purpose of this exercise is to get first hand information about the tenants or others residing in various areas and forms have been introduced in this regard to know about their background.
The meeting was attended amount others by SP Saddar Dr. Khurram Rasheed, SP City Muhammad Ilyas, SP Industrial Area Ishaq Warraich, SP CIA Ch. Liaqat Ali, all Station House Officers of Islamabad Police and officials as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies.
Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Wajid Ali Khan Durrani to make Islamabad city more secure through effective measures, the SSP directed all police officials to conduct survey and gather information within three weeks about all the persons residing in their respective jurisdictions. He said that new forms have been introduced that would maintain complete information about the history of people permanently or temporarily residing there.
The SSP said that duties being performed by police officials in the crucial atmosphere is very much praise worthy. People should be provided relief and further sense of security in this scenario, he added.
Tahir Alam Khan further directed to involve beat officers, notables of the community and members of Security and Vigilance Committees to ensure success in obtaining accurate information.
He said it is the prime responsibility of the police to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and activities of anti-social elements should be curbed for relief to the citizens.
